FORT Street Bar & Grill! Not Side Street!

May 16th, 2008 by Melissa

fooooooodMany people downtown know that Fort Street Bar & Grill–located in the TOPA building–is owned by the same folks who brought you Side Street Bar & Grill. Therefore, it’s the same great food in the same mass quantities.

You’ve already read about what I ate at Side Street one or two times on my old blog, so I don’t need to tell you what else to order! It’s all there at Fort Street Bar & Grill: Pork Chops, Spicy Chicken, Teriyaki Ribeye, Fried Rice, … even the $3 lychee martini specials. As someone who works downtown and subsequently has to fight for parking at Side Street, I can say that this is a great way to have your cake and eat it, too. Just walk over after work!

Ah, but the reason I was there on a weeknight is legit: We reserved the private room upstairs for a party. The staff told me that the room could fit about 25, but as you can see, it fit about 35, easily. There’s no charge for the room and you can even karaoke all you want!

Size of the room

The party was to mark both an end and a beginning–longtime Kahala Mall General Manager Ron Yoda is retiring, and longtime Aloha Tower Marketplace General Manager Floyd Williamson is transferring over to take his place (both properties are managed by MMI Realty Services, Inc.). Neither gentleman wanted a party to mark the occasion, so I picked a low-key spot and simply grinded on them until they gave in. Things are so much easier when you do things my way!!

Ron & Floyd Toast!!

I called it a “pass the baton” party, so it wasn’t quite a retirement or going away party.

What the....?

We also introduced Aloha Tower Marketplace’s new General Manager, Carmen Magno.

Good luck to Carmen and Floyd in their new positions! We’ll certainly miss Floyd & Ron in their old ones.  I think we’re arranging for some kind of special parking space for them at their respective former malls!

Interesting that your fellow blogger next door reported on the same restaurant…must be the place to be. Pork chops and teriyaki sliced rib eye looks deadly…hope you did some running aftah.
