Ho, Hum. Just another beautiful day in paradise.

May 8th, 2008 by Melissa

In the name of sharing (mostly for my friend Deanna in North Carolina, who has a view of the parking lot from her office), I thought I’d show you what the world looks like from my office window at Aloha Tower Marketplace.

I keep telling people that although we have the same stress in our office as anyone else downtown, being on the water takes the “edge” off. I can’t show it well in photos, but on clear days, I can see the tropical fish in the harbor from my window.

What do you see from yours?

Wow! what a view, I see a parking lot and buildings from my office window from a single story building. Do you notice that most of the times during the work week the weather is beautiful, then on the weekends, it’s not as great.

…and take the edge “further” off at Gordon B or Don Ho’s?

If we didn’t love you so much we could grow to dislike you BIG TIME!

  3. Melissa:

    hahahahaaaaaaaaa

I want a window! Are you guys looking for somebody who is a really good talker and has experience working with the mentally challenged?

  5. LRob:

Window? What’s a window? I can only see the other cubicle across from me and the dude sleeping at his desk. I think my eyes are now yellow from the fluoroscent lights above…is it time to go home yet? Wait, I see actual daylight…it’s coming from the Manager’s office across the room!

We all jealous…what a view! Forgive my ignorance but is that the Falls of Clyde?

Somewhat fortunate but I do have a window in my office overlooking the parking lot and of the elementary school playground. So sometimes I watch the little kids run around and on the play equipment…amusing. Oh, such a carefree world they live in.

Last year, for about nine months, I was temporarily working at Halawa Correctional at the high security building. My tiny office was once a cell, someone told me. The AC didn’t work very well, it was hot and no windows. The ACO’s (guards) workout room was next door so the only noise I heard was the heavy weights banging around and the muffled loud music. Obviously, you couldn’t walk around much for breaks. It really felt like a 9 month sentence. Very surreal there…was glad to leave.

I agree, the water would have a calming effect. You are much closer than we are. My view is not that bad though, our office overlooks the airport and further on the ocean and Keehi Lagoon, standing by the window you can see down to Diamond head.

Let’s see … if I opened my office blinds, I would see a sidewalk, a street and a building. On blood drive days, the Bloodmobile parks on the street right in front of my office window so I can see and hear all the blood donating activity. But you have a great view from YOUR office!

  9. LJ:

That’s an awesome view…so lucky. The windows in my office are high so I just see the sky if I go in the back…

  10. Melissa:

For a while, the Falls of Clyde started tiltiing and we thought, “Oooooh, better get ready to run one day if one of the masts falls thru our window!”

    yuenhernandez,

When I used to be located by the area that you’re in now, I used to look outside at about 3:40 in the afternoon to see who was about to get their car towed away. Even though it was a cubicle, it had a window.

Now I’m stuck in a cubicle without a window. I didn’t realize until now how often I look at the ceiling.

  12. Tannille:

The nearest window to my desk is in our office lobby, but once I’m there I ignore the window and instead make a mad dash to the exits!!!! Let me outta here!!! LOL.

  13. Melissa:

That’s what *I* always used to think!
